Welcome to South Kitchen, a hidden gem nestled on Irwin-Railway Station Rd in Maltekdi, Amravati. This delightful South Indian restaurant offers a rich tapestry of flavors, celebrating the authentic cuisine of the South. With a menu that showcases vegetarian delights, South Kitchen prides itself on delivering fresh and wholesome dishes that have garnered glowing reviews from locals and visitors alike.

The vibrancy of this cozy eatery is palpable as soon as you enter. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect space to unwind while indulging in a culinary adventure. The friendly staff are quick to make you feel at home, enhancing the overall dining experience with their welcoming demeanor.

Let’s dive into the highlights of the menu. The Thaate Idli is a must-try—soft, fluffy, and steeped in tradition, it brings the authentic South Indian taste to your palate. The Masala Uttapam is another standout, boasting crisp edges and a generous topping of ingredients, served piping hot. Then there’s the Mysore Masala Dosa, which promises a flavor explosion; the perfectly balanced chutney combined with the masala creates a lovely kick that fans of South Indian food will savor.

For those seeking something light, the Veg Plain Sandwich is a classic choice. Prepared in sunflower oil and pure ghee, it’s comforting and satisfying though it may not outshine the more robust offerings on the table. Meanwhile, the Chole Bhature steals the spotlight. With its perfectly spiced chickpeas paired with puffed, soft bhature, it’s a dish that resonates with everyone, particularly during a shared meal.

To wash down this delectable feast, South Kitchen offers an array of refreshing beverages, including their Mango Shake and Pineapple Shake. However, some guests have noted that the shakes may not fully capture the same level of excellence as the food. It’s a minor note in an otherwise remarkable experience.

With an unbeatable price point that allows you to partake in a delightful spread without breaking the bank—an incredible ₹830 for a table of three—South Kitchen is a testament to quality dining values. Diners rave about the generous portions and the authentic culinary creativity that shines through in each dish.

In summary, if you find yourself in Amravati and crave authentic South Indian cuisine, South Kitchen is an experience not to be missed. I’ve been in Amravati for the past two days, and one thing that has genuinely surprised me is the food here. Today, I went out for lunch with two friends, and the experience turned out to be a total delight. We decided to order a variety of dishes to get a proper taste of what the place had to offer. Our spread included Thaate Idli, Masala Uttapam, Mysore Masala Dosa, Sandwich, and Chole Bhature. Thaate Idli – Soft, fluffy, and authentic. It had that traditional South Indian touch you don’t always get outside the South. Masala Uttapam – Crisp edges, loaded with the right amount of toppings, and served hot. Really enjoyable. Mysore Masala Dosa – A standout in terms of flavor. The chutney and masala inside were well-balanced, giving that signature Mysore kick. Sandwich – Good, but nothing extraordinary compared to the rest of the meal. Chole Bhature – Hands down the winner of the table. Perfectly spiced chole paired with puffed, soft bhature – it stole the show completely. We also tried Cold Coffee, but honestly, this was the only underwhelming part of the meal. The shakes didn’t quite live up to the standard of the food. What really amazed us was the value for money. Even after ordering such a wide variety of dishes and eating to our heart’s content, the total bill came to just ₹830 for three people. For the quality and authenticity of the food, that’s an absolute steal.
